Recently there has been some major developments in DebConf11 organization. In short, I will list some of the most important. Website Official DC11 website has finally been completed and now contains a great deal of information for those interested in attending this years conference. DebConf final dates: DebCamp 17 – 23 July & DebConf 24 – 30 July. Decision has been made last week by the local team. These dates are fixed to avoid any conflict with other conferences and holidays, so they’re definitely final! Well, it’s official, after 4 hours of debating and arguing, the final decision has fallen! Competition was rough but we did it, and all thanks to Adnan! City of Banja Luka will officially host DebConf11!! I’m just glad I got part in the local team, and was able to do as much as I could from so far away. Well, it’s approximately 1 hour before the final decision regarding the DebConf11 is made. So far, our team has done great job in making the presentation and wiki. We are prepared and are eagerly waiting for the start of the bid. Though it’s only an hour left, it feels like a whole day. Well, 3 more days left until the final decision of DebConf Team regarding the DebConf11 bid. The bid will be held on 27th February and will probably last several hours. The time of the bid is 17:00h (normal GMT). The meeting will occur in channel #debconf-team on irc.debian.org (aka irc.oftc.net) in English.

As I mentioned before, I’m interested in helping out our local Debian team in making this possible. I joined newsgroup and I’m always on irc channel #debconf11-bosnia. I’ve informed Adnan (Team Leader) that I’m available to help in every way I can and I’ve already signed up for “DebConf11 decision meeting” event, which will take place on 27th and 28th of February…
