About Me

Just a regular personal website of your friendly neighbor geek. Name’s Vedran Omeragic and I come from Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was born on 6th November 1988. I’ve lived there since, finished my Elementary School and afterwards, High School. As of October 2007 I have moved to Vienna, Austria, where I’m studying Software Engineering and Informatics at Technical University of Vienna.

I have many interests, mostly it’s about computers, technology and science in general. And NO, I’m not a God damn scientologist! As you may have guessed from my posts, I’m a member of Free & Open Source community, and as such I’ll always prefer Linux over windows; but also, I’m not a self-serving bastard, so I’ll admit possessing and using widows. Though it’s only for games and programs for media manipulation (Linux unfortunately lacks as good ones). I’m regular user of Ubuntu, though I love Debian just as much.

Other interest is, of course, music. A day cannot go without at least 5-6 hours of it. I enjoy good and quality music, such as Jazz and Blues, but I also enjoy Rock and Metal. I couldn’t say exactly which is my favourite artist/band, but I always enjoy The Doors, Blues Brothers, Tom Waits, Led Zeppelin, Rage Against Machines, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Testament, Seputura, Kultur Shock…

I’m also addicted to movies and series. I’m a passionate collector with about 3TiB of media. I mostly enjoy thriller/action genre like Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Snatch, Rock’n'Rolla… And TV series, well it’s a bit different, my favorite are: Californication, The Big Bang Theory, Black Books, House MD, Scrubs, Boston Legal, Lost & The Sopranos. Also I’m great and passionate Star Trek, The X-Files and BSG fan.

Books are a bit different. While I really enjoy classics, I’m more orientated towards fiction, mostly science and epic fiction My favourite writer is G.R.R. Martin, the writer of the best epic fiction series ever, called “A Song of Ice and Fire” and, naturally, J.R.R. Tolkien; no need to mention his writings …

Well, that pretty much sums it up. Also, on a quick note, I’m very happy man, born to the two greatest parents in the world, and thanks to them, I have all I want and need (no, they’re not billionaires)!
